Our newest AFBer RyanLB inspired this thread in which the title says it all.Being a musician most of my life music is very important to me and i'm always around it in some way or i go stir crazy.

Rather than just post some favourite songs or whatever what i'd like to do is get a list of Bands or Solo Artists that are a must have in your music collection and that you love to listen to regularly.Compilations don't count, these have to be musos that you're seriously a fan of.
Oh and no it doesn't actually have to be a list of 10,just thought i'd cap the amount so there'd be no preessure. Smiley

I'll go first obviously:
-Thin Lizzy
-Alice Cooper
-Tool/A Perfect Circle[band and spin-off band]
-Gorillaz
-The Tea Party
-John Butler Trio
-Soundgarden/Audioslave[band and spin-off band]
-Iron Maiden
-Queen
-Faith no More

That's my 10[sorta]that was easy, could have gone on for a lot more. Cheesy

Man,good to see everyone's got such varied tastes. It is hard to go with just 10 but i figured it'd keep it fairly simple.

Faith No More (got my ticket to see them in Feb! - can't believe it's 18 years since I first saw them)

That's so cool Dozy, colour me jealous.I saw them at Parramatta at that Metal Club whose name escapes me at the mo in 1980 something or other.Love Mike Patten, ever heard any of his Tomahawk stuff?

Soundgarden (but not Audioslave)
I'm a huge Chris Cornell fan, hell i'd buy an album of him singing Nursery Rhymes.I always liked Rage against the machine's music but hated the singing so i was happy with the combo.
Actually check this out Dozy:

Thanks fella, I'll keep that in mind. I fell into him after seeing Wong Kar-Wai's Happy Together.

Actually check this out Dozy:

Ahh, I'd heard about that track. Pretty cool.

I have a lot of time for Cornell, but I'd fall back to Temple of the Dog rather than Audioslave. I like him, and I dug RATM. But together? Not so much. Just seemed too forced and didn't click for me.

Tomahawk I like too, but I must admit I haven't listened to that stuff for a couple years. I've seen FNM on The Real Thing and KFAD tours, Mr Bungle at Selinas with Disco Volante, and Fantomas with Lombardo in 1995. A heap of his side-projects I could care less about, but I'm a bit of a fan...

So someone actually picked letters to cleo! They were at the fringes of my list, as were a number of other more Indie bands.

YOU TAKE THAT BACK!

Seriously, though, we've all got a lot of similar listening histories. I suppose it's not that surprising considering we're into a lot of the same stuff in general, but still pretty cool.

... And nobody said Coldplay. I love you guys!  Grin

Hey Dozy, do you like electronic tango too? In that case there's a new underground band called "Yira" that's really good.
