I've put up a review of two recent DC Direct DVD Maquettes I've purchased. Have a look!

While they look nice, I'd love to see the numbers that make this worthwhile, but not, say, another Marvel Legends line.

I think there's quite a market for the DC Animated stuff, in fact some people that are really into the DCAU but not the comics and who collect this stuff exclusively.

You didn't get the "Penis out" variant?

I wasn't prepared to pay scalper prices for it.

the Green Latern one looks cool. and Owl man just oozes the evil from the grey. for Mattel did that since they did not have time to do crisis figures which is a shame . and seeing owl man they really need to finish off the crime syndicate. even though not my thing . not to mention those manequets look like a limited edition type thing.

I like 'em.  I'm a big fan of the animated series' and movies, and since the animated figure lines suck, it's nice that they're releasing nicer stuff in the animated style.  Of course, I can't afford them, but if I could I'd be buying them.

I've got a work thing in the big smoke this weekend and I'm so looking forward to going to Kino.

Also wanted to go back to that comic shop in Parra that had that sale last year - what was that place?

You're thinking The Comic Shop in Liverpool? There's a Phantom Zone in Parra (last time I looked), but it's not that great.

I reckon you could probably get hold of one for about $70 US if you tried hard enough.
