Some very interesting news has just popped up about a possible Green Lantern Classics line from Mattel:

Oh yeah!!!  I hope these waves hit between DCUC waves, and not at the same time.

I was thinking the same thing. I am really excited about this, assuming that we are going to get some new characters here and not just reissues or repaints. The only minus is the potential damage to my wallet!

Thinking about characters I'd love to see done here, right off the top of my head:

Arisisa
Boodikka (Classic)
Soranik Natu
A better Abin Sur
Salaak
Guardian pack-ins or Multi-Pack
Hector Hammond C&C

I hope that as well as the modern age stuff we get some truly "Classic" characters.

I really hope this isn't just reissues and repaints to raise GL awareness. If it is new/newish stuff then it'd be good to see them fix Sinestro.

I'm Hoping for a Modern Hal. Oh and a Parallax and  Kyle in his original costume.
Gotta have some Crabfacve lovin'.

Man, If people don't know about GL that last bit sounds a bit crazy.

I'm sure when the movie comes out the set will rocket up in price. Better pick me up a few for future ebay sales  Grin

Too be honest, I'm not really interested in another version of Hal or John, etc, I just wanna build up the Corps (of any colour).

I can cope with a couple figures that are variants of already released characters as long as the bulk are new characters. What would really make me cranky is if they release a wave of already-dones with a much wanted CnC, like Hector Hammond or Arkillo. That. Would. Suck.

Ohhh, could we dare hope for a Ferrin Colos or a Darkstar Donna Troy?

...no?

Modern Hal is outish in the form of the TRU exclusive.

word on the street is this is more GL themed than actually full of GLC (villains mostly)

I think I might be the only one who does want every version of Donna. Well, Not John Byrne-Sparkly-Body-stocking-with-ridiculous-pointy-shoulders-Donna. But an Original Troia costume would be sweet.

And does anyone know if Aussie Toys R Uses will get DCUC exclusives?

I think Toys Rnt Us in Australia have managed to establish themselves as one of the most useless toy retailers on the planet. Though to be fair, they did get Target exclusive Star Wars stuff (yes, you read that right). We're yet to see DCUC anywhere in Australia other than ebay and a few specialty places.

Most of us Aussies get our DCUC figs straight from MikeS (check the 'PEGS' section). He's a great guy, does great prices, great shipping and I hear he single handedly stopped Joel Schumacher from making another Batman film. Yes, he's that good!  Cheesy

Yeah, this line does sound like it could have the potential for greatness. I want a good Ion and a Kyle Raynor, the four Earth bound GL's are the most important to me and as far as the Corps, hopefully that upcoming five pack will handle that.

This line could also be a place for Mattel to do their take on the Blackest Night stuff so that it doesn't clog up DCUC. I'll be surprised if they too many Black Lanterns - probably a bit too confronting for a retail line that needs mums to buy them for their kids to stay alive.

Not to mention Blackest Night will probably be long forgotten by the time their turnaround time gets them to us. Then again, if it's just a new headsculpt and repaint we may get them yet.
