I recently made my first foray into the world of purchasing original comic art by picking up a page of SECRET SIX drawn by Nicola Scott and inked by Doug Hazelwood.

I'm absolutely delighted - check out the link for the artwork and the story!

That's a great piece Andy. Well done!

It's a slippery slope you're on now. I went down that path once and it became an obsession. An expensive one too!

I think I will try to limit myself to one piece from any particular artist. I do like eating, and sleeping under cover and that kind of good stuff!

Next on my list is a page of LEGION by new artist Yldiray Cinar. Just waiting for a good Phantom Girl page!

It might be worth contacting the artist directly as they often have agents they sell their art through and you can get notified when the art is available.

Something to keep in mind too is I believe the inker is entitled to every 4th or 5th page and same for the covers they ink so contacting them is worth a shot too.

I was lucky enough to correspond a bit with Bart Sears a while back and he didn't sell his art to an agent so I picked up some of his Justice League stuff and an in-house ad he did for his Legends of the Dark Knight arc.

Cinar's pencils are all sold through The Art of Comics website, and pretty reasonably for an interior page. I'm just waiting on a page that really features Phantom Girl. There was a pretty good one from #2 but it was sold by the time I got there.
