FREE COMIC BOOK DAY
KINO ZINE FAIR

SATURDAY, MAY 2

Books Kinokuniya in Sydney is one of thousands of stores around the world celebrating the comic book art form on Saturday, May 2. On Free Comic Book Day (FCBD), close to 2 million comic books will be given away by participating stores, introducing as many people as possible to the wonders of comic books!

FCBD is just what the name implies. Anybody who asks will be given a FREE comic book* - no purchase necessary! (*selected titles and while stocks last)

DON'T FORGET to visit the Kino Zine Fair from 11am - 4pm, featuring zines and other fun stuff from local zinesters, comic artists and crafters.

PLUS 20% OFF* all Comics and Manga.

AND grab yourself a bargain at our Super Awesome Panda Manga Sale with selected manga titles at $4.95** (**no further discounts apply).

I'm not sure what they mean by "comics" on sale, because they don't really carry singles. They're my regular source of TPBs and HCs, and are only a block and a half away from Kings. They also carry Bowen stuff.

How weird, one of our librarians here was just telling me about this shop yesterday. I've got our librarians on board promoting FCBD the last couple of years and building up a really solid TPB and graphic novel collection.

Kinokuniya is a very awesome bookshop. The website really undersells it.

This lady was raving about it and said it's a "must" for my next trip to Sydney.

Kinokuniya was an awesome place for Trades and the like when that asian fella used to run the 'comic' section. I've found since he left that it's nothing like it was (very few new statues) and their prices suddenly went up (time was that trades were often only a few bucks more than the US price).

They've still got a bunch of "cheap" books, from when the exchange rate was good last year. The newer stuff is proportionately more expensive with the current rate. Overall, they're cheaper than the LCS, and with a 10% member discount, they're my main bricks and mortar source for trades and HCs.

Yep  Smiley Tyroc and I used to load up whenever we did a Sydney trip. Somehow I'd always find a gem that had escaped the odd pricing system they use and get stuff for a steal!
