Well, I just read the latest issue of X-Force, and I think I may end up liking Necrosha better than Blackest Night. The reanimated mutants at least seem to have aspects of themselves - for example Banshee's moment of dismay at what he was doing, Risque's plea to Warpath to get himself away, etc. Certainly more depth, and more heart-rending than the Black Lanterns, who are just menacing and nasty.

Of course, the end result is what really matters here. The state of play at the end of the event is how I'll be judging it.

You didn't miss anything. There was only so much foil, hologram, chromium, die-cut, lenticular and fold out we could handle.

What's your view on 3D stuff?  Part of me likes the foil/hologram stuff. But then again I wasn't buying comcis at the time, only looking at them longingly wishing I was brave enough to buy them.  I think I thought shiny foil-y things were uber cool.  Such a magpie..

Just read X-Force #21 as well and I really liked it. Kyle and Yost have been setting this up for a while and it's paying off. But what happened to Wolverine? Did I miss the outcome of his 'downfall'?

I didn't mind the cover crap....except it jacked up the price. For me I will always take a lower cover price over 'fancy' extras. This is why I don't buy annuals, one-shots of "Giant Size" anymore. You pay heaps more for a standard comic plus a couple of reprints of comics I already own. I may be generalising but I'm sure the 'kids' of today don't give a crap about a Kirby 'FF' or Wally Wood 'Daredevil' reprint, etc.
